Brochure formats

The most common formats are the A4 tri-fold (three panels each side), the A4 bi-fold (an A5-sized folded piece) and DL leaflets that fit a standard envelope. Which one fits depends on content: tri-folds suit step-by-step summaries and service lists, bi-folds suit stories and photography, and a single-sheet leaflet is the fastest and simplest option. Compare with flyers and booklets when deciding.

Paper and finish

Gloss or satin paper in a medium-to-heavy weight is the usual choice, because lighter paper can crack at the fold. Lamination on a heavier cover gives a premium feel and scratch protection. We can quote scoring along fold lines so folds sit cleanly. Confirm paper weight and finish on your quote.

Artwork and fold setup

Folded pieces fail at the artwork stage more than anywhere else. Supply a PDF with each side as a separate page, panel widths marked, 3 mm bleed and text kept away from the folds. In a tri-fold, one panel is usually slightly narrower so it can tuck inside; ask us for the template if you are unsure. Read the artwork guidelines or ask about design help.

Timing

Printing, cutting, scoring and folding add steps. Turnaround is subject to capacity, job size, approved artwork, payment and a confirmed deadline, and we confirm it on the quote. The fastest brochure jobs have final copy, standard formats and prompt approval.

Collection and handling

Collect from our Rivonia shop once we confirm the order is ready. Boxed, flat-packed stacks protect the folds. Delivery is quoted per job.

For brochure printing with a fixed date, tell us the deadline when you ask for a quote.

Frequently asked questions

Which fold is best?

Tri-folds suit lists and summaries; bi-folds suit imagery and storytelling. We can advise on your content.

Can brochures be done the same day?

Sometimes for simple folds with final artwork, subject to capacity and a confirmed deadline.

Why scoring?

Scoring creases the paper before folding so it folds cleanly without cracking.

Can you design my brochure?

Yes, design is available and quoted separately.

What if my panels do not line up?
