Lightbox signs that stay visible after dark

A lightbox has a frame, usually aluminium, a lit interior and a translucent face. The face carries your printed graphics, and light shining from behind makes colours glow evenly.

Shapes include flat rectangular boxes, double-sided projecting boxes that can be seen from the street, circular signs and custom outlines. Lightboxes suit pharmacies, restaurants, clinics, takeaways, salons, convenience shops and office entrances. Modern lightboxes use LED lighting, which gives even light with low power use. Lamp type and layout are chosen for the size of the box.

• Face material: translucent acrylic or flex-type films with printed or cut vinyl graphics; confirm on quote.
• Sides: single-sided for flat walls, double-sided for projecting signs.
• Depth and size: from small counter boxes to large fascia lightboxes; very large boxes may be built in sections.
• Interior use: slim boxes and wall-mounted panels for menus, directories and reception.

Backlit graphics behave differently from paper. Light makes pale areas glow and dark areas look heavy, so contrast and colour choices matter.

• Supply vector artwork (AI, EPS, SVG, PDF or CDR).
• Avoid fine detail in dark areas, which may disappear when lit.
• Keep text well inside the edges, where the frame covers part of the face.
• Tell us the brand colours; backlit colours may look slightly different to print.

Lightboxes are fabricated and wired, so they take longer than printed signs. Timing depends on capacity, frame and LED stock, size, approved artwork, payment and a confirmed deadline. Fast turnaround may be possible for standard sizes and is confirmed on the quote.

Installation is quoted separately and should be done safely, using a qualified electrician for wiring where required. Landlord and municipal approval for illuminated signs is the owner's responsibility.
