The 10 km Speed Limit road sign (R201-10) is an R Series regulatory sign used to indicate the maximum legal speed that may not be exceeded from the point of installation. A 10 km/h limit is typically used in low-speed environments where pedestrians, property access, or operational controls require strict speed reduction.
Purpose and function
This sign enforces a low-speed operating rule to reduce collision risk, improve stopping distance, and protect pedestrians and property. It is commonly used on private roads, depots, warehouses, estates, and controlled environments where slow vehicle movement is required.
Typical applications
- Depots, warehouses, and loading yards with pedestrian interaction
- Estate internal roads and access control zones
- Industrial sites and plant areas with equipment crossings
- Parking areas, ramps, and tight manoeuvring zones
